After 12 years of dreaming, Mr. B and I are finally starting the process of buying our first home! We had a meeting with "Loan Lady" and "Digs Dude" on Friday - got the numbers and gave our preferences. Digs Dude says he'll get started on Monday - that's tomorrow! AAACK! We're super excited and super nervous and super in disbelief that we're actually taking this step that we've been dreaming about as long as we've known each other.
Of course, in our excitement, we can't wait to hear from Digs Dude to find out what he finds for us, so we do our own searching. We've been looking at houses online and in person throughout the dreaming process, so why stop now that we have a professional on our side?
First stop: a gloomy grouping of houses at risk of being flooded - umm...no thanks.
Second stop: a run-down bungalow on a busy street with a large property and a mystery building. Hmm...
We certainly do pride ourselves on being DIYers. We are definitely looking for a place to live that is not, shall we say, "cookie cutter". The mystery building in the back is almost ideal for Mr B's many hobbies and projects.
So we'll continue dreaming and plotting and scheming while we wait to see what Digs Dude has in store for us. Wish us luck!
